This season started off in a pretty apathetic way. December brought cold temps and snow to the Mid-West in early December and Pine Knob (PK) opened up the 2nd weekend of December. Not that bad of a start for the season, or so it would seem.
PK was open for about a week when around the middle of December and unprecedented warm front brought a quick closure to PK as well as every other resort in the Mid West and thus began a downward spiral of the season.
For about 3 weeks, there was nothing but warm temps and mud. Then without warning an artic blast came on the heels of this 3-week warm front. This was great for making snow but brutally cold ski conditions for about 4-5 weeks.
The conditions got a little more bearable after that cold front, but by that time the season was about done. Here are some highlights from this season.
Enjoy.
